Greg Brown (businessman)
Greg Brown (born 1960) is an American businessman.[1][2] He serves as chairman and chief executive officer of Motorola Solutions.[1][2][3]
Early life
Greg Brown graduated from Rutgers University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1982.[1][2][3]
Career
Greg Brown is chairman and chief executive officer of Motorola Solutions, Inc. He joined Motorola in January 2003. In March 2007, Brown became president and COO and was elected to the company's board of directors. He then became CEO of Motorola in January 2008.[3]
Prior to joining Motorola, he was chairman and CEO of Micromuse Inc. from 1999 to 2003.[3]
Brown serves as chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago,[4] and is a member of the executive committee of the Business Roundtable. Additionally, Brown is a board member of the Economic Club of Chicago and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.[3]
He earned a bachelor's degree in economics and an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Rutgers University, and also serves as chairman on the University’s board of governors.[3][5]
Brown is chairman of the Rutgers board and is a member of the finance committee for New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie's 2016 presidential bid.[6]
