Handroanthus albus, the Golden Trumpet Tree, is a tree with yellow flowers native to the Cerrado (tropical savannas) of Brazil, where it is known as ipê-amarelo-da-serra.

This plant is found in the Brazilian states of Bahia, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo.[2]

It is used as an urban tree, and it is also used as a medicinal plant.[citation needed]

Well-known and popular, the tree and its flower are the national plants of Brazil.[citation needed]
