Harindra Dave (19 September 1930 - 29 March 1995) was a Gujarati writer of the post-independence period.

Life
He was born on 19 September 1930 in Khambhra village in Kachchh District, Gujarat. He was educated at Shamaldas Gandhi College, Bhavnagar and later Bombay University.[1][2]
Career
He authored more than fifty works, including poems, essays, Drama and fiction. He was a journalist by profession.[1][2]
He was Editor of Gujarati news Papers Janmabhoomi and Janmabhoomi-Pravasi. Well-known poet writer and a Journalist."Aganpankhi(1962), "Madhav Kyayn Nath(1970)i", "Krishna ane Manav Sambandho(1982)", "Mukhvato", "Anagat", "Hayati(1978)", "Sang-Asang", "Lohi no Rang Lal(1981)", "Gandhi Ni Kavad(1984) and many more titles to his credit.[1][2]
Started journalism with Janashakti in 1951 till 1962. He joined Bhavan's as an editor of 'Samarpan' gujarati monthly digest. In 1968 joined USIS and continued till 1973.[1][2]
In 1973 he joined Janashakti -Gujarati daily newspaper as an Editor. His silent contribution during the emergency period was very notable. After Janashakti he Joined Janmabhoomi group of news papers as an Editor in Chief for Janmabhoomo-Daily evening News Paper, Pravasi-Daily Morning Newspaper and "Janambhoomi -Pravasi" Weekly morning News paper.[1][2]
Before embarking on daily journalism in 1951, Harindrabhai worked with Chitrapat- film magazine. And during his years with Chitrapat he came in to association with personalities like Shyam, Suraiya, Guru Dutt, Mehbub Khan, Motilal, Mohamad Rafi, Ramanand 'Sagar' etc.[1][2]
Recognition
He received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1978 for his poetry collection Hayati. He also received the Ranjitram Suvarna Chandrak in 1982, the Kabir Award (from the Madhya Pradesh Government), the Gujarati Sahitya Parishad award and the Goenka award for Journalism.[1][2]
