Hastings Museum and Art Gallery

The museum collection contains drawings by the famous architect James Burton; exhibits relating to John Logie Baird, the inventor of mechanical television; paintings by Robert Tressell; exhibits on Native Americans and Grey Owl; and natural history and local history exhibits.
There is also an Indian and Colonial exhibit, originally held in South Kensington, in Durbar Hall, which was built in 1886 for this exhibit.
The art gallery holds five or six temporary exhibitions a year, such as "Mods and Rockers" in 2002 and "Smuggling in Sussex" in 2006.
