The entrance is on Southwest 3rd Street just between Southwest Scott Street and Southwest Des Moines Street. It measures .03 from East to West and .05 miles North to South. The park was named after Ankeny patrolman Laverne G. Haubert. Patrolman Haubert was killed in an automobile accident while transporting an injured woman and her husband to a hospital.[1]
