HTA is located in Highland Springs, Virginia. It is attached to Highland Springs High School, in conjunction with the Highland Springs Tech Center. It is a collaborative effort between Qimonda and HSTC to educate juniors and seniors for future careers in high tech industries. It is also in conjunction with Virginia Commonwealth University. Students are able to receive up to 28 college credits that are transferrable.

Started in 2001, the program has seen 7 graduating classes to date. The two teachers at High Tech Academy are Connie Saunders and Dr. Steve Herr. The program allows students to obtain access to technology. The program offers a summer internship with Qimonda - Richmond.
