Holomictic lake
From Infogalactic: the planetary knowledge core
(Redirected from Holomictic)
Holomictic lakes are lakes, which, at some time during the year, have a uniform temperature and density from top to bottom, allowing the lake waters to completely mix. Holomictic lakes are non-meromictic lakes.[1]
Most lakes are holomictic; meromictic lakes are rare, although they may be less rare than commonly thought.[citation needed]
