The Hyundai ix25 (Korean: 현대 ix25), also known as the Hyundai Creta in India, is a compact crossover produced by Beijing Hyundai, a joint venture by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai and China's Beijing Group from 2014. It was first seen as a thinly veiled "concept" at Auto China (in Beijing), April 2014. The production model had its premier at Chengdu, in August 2014, and it went on sale in China two months later.[2]

The ix25 is based on the platform of the i20. In India, where it was scheduled to go on sale on 21 July 2015, it will be badged "Hyundai Creta" after Crete. The name is also intended to suggest connections with "creative".[3] The Creta/ix25 is intended to become a global model.

The Chinese market gets two petrol engines, of 1.6 or 2.0 litres. In India, the car is available with 1.4 and 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines.[1]
