Unlike other French Grande écoles of business which have a three-year programme (after two years of Classes Préparatoires) IÉSEG offers a five-year program just after completing the Baccalauréat : the Grande école programme. In addition to mainstream courses, students are allowed to concentrate in a variety of subjects that range from finance to human resources.

This program is composed of a three-year Bachelor of Business Administration programme followed by a two-year Master of Science in Management.

Bachelor of Business Administration: The three-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program provides students with a top-level general management education. Students gain knowledge in several areas of management such as International Business and Marketing and Operations Managements. After three years, students are eager to enter the professional world. Students can leave with a BBA, which provides a solid foundation in business and management, or they have the option to continue on to the M.Sc in Management program (the fourth and fifth years of Grande Ecole Program).

Since September 2010, it is possible for newly admitted students to follow all the courses of the five-year programme only in English, allowing foreign students with no French background to be admitted as an IÉSEG student. It is also compulsory for every IÉSEG student to follow the courses from third year in English, as mastering English is a requirement of the school.

Summer Session

Each summer, IÉSEG offers to international students a four-week programme (called Summer Academy) on the Paris' campus, including business courses taught in English and French language course. Students will be able to validate a maximum of 12 ECTS credits that they could transfer to their home university.[1]

Admission

IÉSEG has 3 types of admission:

  • First of all, the ACCES contest, made for students who live in France. If these students pass the writing test, they then have to go to Lille for an interview.
  • Secondly, students coming from IUT, universities and other post-baccalaureate studies can join IÉSEG through "parallel admissions" whether in the third year of a bachelor's program or the first year of a master's program. They have to submit applications and pass interviews.
  • Finally, international students can send their application.

International

IÉSEG has 200 partner universities around the world (50 different countries), in which the students can be allowed to spend one or two semesters as an exchange student.

More than 900 students coming from those partner universities come to study at IESEG every year. They are asked to take up to 15 electives (30 ECTS credits) over more than 200 courses taught in English. It is also possible for them to take some of the bachelor's courses taught in French, and French language classes.

Research

IÉSEG shares a research department with CNRS, a state-owned research body. Primary areas of research are economics, social sciences, finance and marketing.

Locations

Lille campus

The historical campus, located inside the city of Lille, is composed of 5 buildings for a total surface of 11,000 m2. The two main buildings are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to all students, allowing them to access computer rooms or studying room at anytime by using a magnetic badge.

Paris campus

In 2008, IÉSEG opened a second campus in the Grande Arche de La Défense. The objective was to attract more students (mostly international students) and reinforce relations with companies. It also allowed IÉSEG to get more students.
To accommodate the growing number of students, IÉSEG acquiered in 2011 a new platform located next to the Grande Arche.

The Paris campus has 20 amphitheatres, 20 classrooms, 3 multimedia centres, 1 library and rooms for school associations. 1,000 students are on this campus.
