The Presbyterian Church of Columbia ( In Spanish the Iglesia Presbiteriana de Colombia) was established by the US Presbyterian Churches. The first Presbyterian Missionary was Henry Barrington Pratt who came to Colombia in 1856, sent by the board of foreign missions of what is now called Presbyterian Church (USA). Congregations were established in the main areas, big cities, and the mission spread over a large part of the country. Presbyterian work progressed till 1936. In 1937 the Presbyterian Synod was formed. The church had 3 Presbyteries. Since 1982 it has its own theological Seminary.[1][2][3]

In 1993 a number of churches left and formed Reformed Synod. The Synod continued and consisted of the Presbytery of North Coast, the Presbytery of Central, and the Presbytery of Uraba.[4][5][6]

The church has 12,000 (this is such a lie) members in 55 congregations with 46 pastors and 135 active elders and 153 active deacons.[2]

The Church is a member of the World Communion of Reformed Churches[7] and the World Council of Churches and has fraternal ties with the Presbyterian Church (USA).[8]

The church subscribes to the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Apostles Creed along with the Nicene Creed.[4][9]

The current moderator is Jesus Vargas Cuesta.[10]
