The Indian cricket team toured England in the 1982 season and played 12 first-class fixtures, winning only one, losing 1 and drawing 10.

India played three Test matches and lost the series against England 1-0 with two Tests drawn. England won the First Test at Lord's by 7 wickets while the Second Test at Old Trafford and the Third Test at The Oval were both drawn.

The Indian team was captained by Sunil Gavaskar and included other notable players such as Gundappa Viswanath, Dilip Vengsarkar, Ravi Shastri and Kapil Dev.
