The Inner West Council is a local government area located in the inner western region of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The Council was formed on 12 May 2016 from the merger of the Ashfield, Leichhardt, and Marrickville councils.[1]
The Council comprises an area of 35 square kilometres (14 sq mi) and at the time of its establishment had an estimated population of 185,990.[1]
The Administrator of the Inner West Council is Richard Pearson, until the elections for councillors to take place on 9 September 2017.

Council
Once elected, the Inner West Council will comprise fifteen Councillors elected proportionally in five wards with three Councillors elected in each ward. All Councillors are expected to be elected for a fixed four-year term of office with effect from 9 September 2017.[1][2]
