Jacques Widerkehr

Jacques Christian Michel Widerkehr l'aîné (also Wiederkehr, Viderkehr; 18 April 1759 – April 1823) was an Alsatian composer and cellist of the classical era. He was born in Strasbourg in 1759 and began his career as a freelance cellist in Paris in 1783. His oboe sonatas were composed around 1794.[1]
He is best known for his instrumental compositions, especially symphonies concertantes for several wind instruments, or wind sinfonias.[2] He claimed to be a student of Dumonchau, professor of the cello in Strasbourg and father of the pianist Charles-François Dumonchau.[3]
