In 1972 he was part of the Spanish team which finished fifteenth in the Olympic tournament. He played two matches and scored one goal.[1]
Javier Garcia worked as[when?] the Team Handball Coach of the Brazilian National Team.[citation needed] Javier Garcia currently holds position of a head coach for the USA Men's National Team for Team Handball (starting October 2012).
