JETGO Australia is an Australian regional airline and air charter company that commenced revenue flights in 2012 with a focus on ad hoc and contract charter work, particularly fly-in fly-out (FIFO) operations in support of the mining and resources sector. In 2014, the airline gained regulatory approval to begin scheduled Regular Public Transport flights on selected routes.

Overview

The company took delivery of its first 37-seat Embraer 135 aircraft in March 2012. and was granted an air operator's certificate (AOC) by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) in May that year.[1] As of July 2012, JETGO Australia was operating FIFO and charter services throughout Australia.[2][3] Despite having a business model initially focused on charter operations, following approval by CASA in October 2014, JETGO announced it would begin establishing regular public transport services. The company plans to grow its fleet to as many as 10 aircraft, focusing on routes in Queensland and regional New South Wales.[4]

The airline announced plans to launch services between Sydney and Roma from 10 November 2014, however after delaying the start of the route until 1 December, the airline announced in November that the services would not proceed.[5] Services between Sydney and Gladstone (replacing flights withdrawn by Qantaslink) as well as Brisbane to Tamworth 10 times per week have also been announced and will begin as planned, with the launch of the latter route coinciding with the annual country music festival.[6] It has also been reported that the airline is considering services between Sydney and Narrabri, however no official announcement has been made yet.[7]
