Jonathon W. G. Wills
Jonathan W. G. Wills, is a Scottish journalist.
Life
Wills is most famous as involved in a 1997 lawsuit[1] brought against him as publisher of The Shetland News.[2] The plaintiff in the case, The Shetland Times, accused Wills' company, Zetnews Ltd., of stealing news stories from their site by using hyperlinks bypassing their main webpage. Using so-called "deep-web" links, Wills bypassed the framework that the Times used to publish news articles on its website, specifically the main page and the interspersed advertisements.
Wills was also the first student Rector of the University of Edinburgh, a position he came into in 1972.
