Karl-Otto Leukefeld (1 May 1913 – 24 May 2008) was a highly decorated Hauptmann in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Karl-Otto Leukefeld was captured by Soviet forces in May 1944 during the Crimean Offensive, and was held until 1949. He joined the Bundeswehr in 1956 and retired in 1971 as an Oberst.
