Karthikeyan Velu (born 26 April 1990, known as Karty / Karthik Adhigan (screen name) ) is a Tamil actor and dancer who works in the Tamil film industry. He is son of Mr.M.Velu, Chief manager, Corporation Bank, who was also a writer in Kumudam, Ananda Vikatan, Dinamalar-Varamalar and several other Tamil magazines. Karty started his acting career at the age of 22. He has made several short movies and couple of feature films.

Early life

Karthikeyan was born on 26 April 1990 to Corporation Bank Chief Manager and writer, Mr.Velu and Annakkili. He has a brother named Sarankumar, who is doing his BDS in Annamalai University. Karty went on to do his Computer science Engineering in SNS College of Technology, Coimbatore and was passed out in 2011. He started his own firm, Karty Computer Solutions and dropped in late 2011. Later, He joined an IT firm in 2012 to start his career in Software.

Career

2004 - 2005

He was doing his 10th std in Air force school and that, was indeed the golden period for him to enter to the field of Dance yet again after 9years (He was rejected in a Dance event when he was in First Grade). He participated in a district level dance competition, And won 3rd Place in that competition which encouraged him to participate further in more events. He still recalls his winning moment which made him a star in his school.

2005-2011

He has participated in a reality TV show, organized by SS Music, which gave him exposure to the leading Dance companies in Coimbatore. Later, He was invited to perform in couple of events in Coimbatore. He has also participated in Ungalil yaar adutha prabhudeva and unfortunately, couldn't qualify for the third round.

2012 - recent

He has performed in Ekatvam, an annual festival of Tech Mahindra (formerly called Mahindra Satyam) and has got many appreciations from Leaders. This event gave him more exposure to the public. He started directing and acting in Short movies in 2013, which in turn was sent to many leading Directors and Production companies in Tamil film Industry. One of his major project is The True Post,. He was called by debut director Easwaran to do the lead role in his movie, which happens to be his debut too. After seeing the trailer shoot of his debut and his talent, director, Sivadhasan, a friend of Easwaran, gave chance to Karty in his upcoming movie. Both movies are under pre-production.

Personal life

Though his main career is Acting, he has worked as Teacher, Dance Instructor/Choreographer, Software developer, Web designer, Graphic designer, Video editor, Mobile service and Computer Service engineer. He always says that, he never knew what he aspired to become, although he was trying to become CEO of his own firm. His role model is his Father. And his personal fitness trainer is Ravi Sankar, [Tuticorin].
