Kawakole is a city and a notified area in Nawada district in the Indian state of Bihar. It is situated on the 40 km Distance from Nawada City. The city is middle of nawadaNawada district & Jamui Jamui district. History

Demographics

In the mid-19th century, many labourers from this region migrated to Mauritius, Reunion Island and various Caribbean islands. The present population 129187.[citation needed] Males constitute 66655 of the population and females 62532. Kawakole has an average literacy rate of 39%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 56%, and female literacy is 44%.

The Urdu-speaking Muslim community represents a large section of the people particularly in the Kawakole Block. During British rule a large area of land was owned and cultivated by Muslims. After the partition of India, the majority of Muslim landlords emigrated to Pakistan. Others emigrated to Gaya, Patna, Delhi and Kolkata.
