Kim Dasom (Hangul김다솜), also known as simply Dasom, is a South Korean singer and actress. She is best known as a member of the South Korean girl group Sistar under Starship Entertainment. She has acted in films and television dramas, including Family (2012–2013), Melody of Love (2013–2014) and The Virtual Bride (2015).

Career

Pre-debut

Prior to singing, Kim Dasom had entered and won various poem and songwriting contests.[2]

Sistar

In June 2010, Dasom made her debut as a member of Sistar on KBS Music Bank (TV series) with their debut single, "Push Push"[3] Sistar has released two studio albums and five EPs in total.

Solo career

Dasom appeared in the music video for boy band VIXX's new song "Rock Ur Body" which was released on August 13, 2012.[4] She also appeared in K.Will's music video for the song "Please Don't..." which was released on October 10, 2012.[5]

On January 15 and 16, 2013 Dasom was one of the MCs for the Golden Disc Awards, held in Malaysia.[6] She played the lead female role in K.Will's "Love Blossom", released on April 4.[7]

Dasom starred as the female lead for the drama "Melody of Love" as Gong Deul Im.

On April 20, 2015, it was revealed that Dasom will join reality show Law of the Jungle in Micronesia along with 2AM's vocalist Jinwoon. The reality show will start airing in May.[8]

On June 14, 2015, it was revealed that Dasom will join variety show MBC's My Little Television as a regular guest.[9]

On July 6, 2015, it was revealed that Dasom was casted in a new KBS drama The Eccentric Daughter-in-Law. She'll be playing Oh In Young, a member of a four-member girl group. The drama will run for 12 episodes and will begin airing on August 17, 2015.[10]
