Kishor Shantabai Kale

Kishor Shantabai Kale (1970–2007) was a Marathi writer and social worker from Maharashtra, India.

He was an illegitimate son of a Kolhati tamasha dancer. He studied to become a medical doctor. In 2002, he embraced Buddhism.

Kale died at age 37 in a car accident.[1][2]

In 1994, he wrote his autobiography Kolhatyacha Por (कोल्ह्याट्याचा पोर) in Marathi. It was translated into several Indian languages, and also English under the title Against All Odds.[3] The Hindi translation was published under the title Kilhati Ka Chhokra (किल्हाटी का छोकरा).
