Lewis Edwards Gates (1860 – 1924) was an American literary critic and professor at Harvard University.
Career overview
Lewis E. Gates was graduated from Harvard in 1884. He later studied in Germany, France and England, returning to Harvard in 1890 as instructor in English. Six years later he was made Assistant Professor of English.
