Governors of Oklahoma Territory

Oklahoma Territory was formally organized on May 2, 1890.

As secretaries of Oklahoma Territory in 1891 and 1901 respectively, Robert Martin and William C. Grimes both served as acting governor whenever the presidentially appointed governorship was vacant.

As of May 2015, there are six former U.S. governors of Oklahoma who are currently living at this time, the oldest U.S. governor of Oklahoma being George Nigh (1963, 1979-1987, born 1927). The most recent U.S. governor of Oklahoma to die was Henry Bellmon (1963–1967, 1987–1991), on September 29, 2009; he is also the U.S. governor of Oklahoma who served most recently to have died.
