This is a list of official overseas visits and Commonwealth tours made by the Duke of Cambridge. Prince William, as a child, first traveled with his parents on official visits and tours. Now he is one of the United Kingdom's most important ambassadors; sometimes the Duke travels overseas as a representative of the UK.[1] The Duke also undertakes tours of Commonwealth realms, of which his paternal grandmother is the queen, as her representative or as a member of the realm's royal family.

22–27 October 1991  Canada Toronto, Ottawa, Niagara Falls Visit with The Prince and Princess of Wales and Prince Harry.[1]
23–24 March 1998  Canada Vancouver Visited Vancouver for public engagements with The Prince of Wales and Prince Harry.[1]
28 June–10 July 2005  New Zealand Wellington, Auckland Prince William was invited by the British and Irish Lions rugby team to join them on their tour to New Zealand. While there, the Prince also represented The Queen at events to commemorate the end of the Second World War.[1]
10 June 2006  Germany Frankfurt In his capacity as President of The Football Association, the Prince attended an opening round of the 2006 FIFA World Cup.[1]
17–19 January 2010  New Zealand Wellington, Auckland Prince William represented the Queen at the opening of the Supreme Court building.[3]
15–16 June 2010  Botswana Gaborone Prince William and Prince Harry visited Botswana, Lesotho and South Africa in June 2010. The visit was the first time that The Princes carried out joint engagements overseas. The visit to Botswana was on behalf of Tusk Trust, of which Prince William is Patron.[1]
15–19 June 2010  South Africa Cape Town In support of The FA’s Bid to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the Prince, in his capacity as President of The Football Association, attended an opening round of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.[1]
15–19 June 2010  Lesotho Semonkong The Princes visited projects supported by Sentebale, the charity which Prince Harry founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho.[1]
14 November 2010  Afghanistan Camp Bastion Attended a Service of Remembrance.[1]
17–18 March 2011  New Zealand Christchurch, Greymouth Attended a Memorial service on behalf of The Queen for 2011 Christchurch earthquake. The Prince also visited Greymouth, near the site of the Pike River Mine disaster.[1]
19–21 March 2011  Australia Queensland, Victoria Prince William visited the flood damaged areas of Queensland and Victoria.[4]
30 June–8 July 2011  Canada Ontario, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Northwest Territories, Alberta The first official overseas tour of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after their wedding in April 2011.[1]
8–10 July 2011  United States Los Angeles In his capacity as President, the Duke and Duchess attended an event hosted by BAFTA.[5][1]
2 November 2011  Denmark Copenhagen The Duke and Duchess visited the UNICEF Headquarters.[1]
11–13 September 2012  Singapore Singapore Diamond Jubilee Tour on behalf of The Queen with The Duchess of Cambridge.[1] A state dinner was held in their honour by President Tony Tan.[6]
13–15 September 2012  Malaysia Kuala Lumpur, Sabah Diamond Jubilee Tour on behalf of The Queen with The Duchess of Cambridge.[1]
16–18 September 2012  Solomon Islands Honiara, Tavanipupu Diamond Jubilee Tour on behalf of The Queen with The Duchess of Cambridge.[1]
18–19 September 2012  Tuvalu Funafuti Diamond Jubilee Tour on behalf of The Queen with The Duchess of Cambridge.[1]
7–16 April 2014  New Zealand Wellington, Blenheim, Auckland, Hamilton, Cambridge, Dunedin, Queenstown, Christchurch Prince George accompanied The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their official tour of New Zealand and Australia.[1]
16–25 April 2014  Australia Sydney, Brisbane, Uluru, Adelaide, Canberra Prince George accompanied The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.[1]
6 June 2014  France Arromanches The Duke and Duchess attended the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Normandy Landings at Gold Beach.[1]
4 August 2014  Belgium Liege The Duke and Duchess attended First World War centenary commemorations at the Cointe Inter Allied Memorial, and the Saint Symphorien Military Cemetery.[1]
20–21 September 2014  Malta Valletta The Duke represented the Queen on the visit to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Malta's Independence. The Duchess of Cambridge was originally due to undertake the visit, however she was suffering from acute morning sickness.[7]
7–9 December 2014  United States New York City, Washington, D.C. The Duke met with President Barack Obama in the White House.[8][9]
26 February–1 March 2015  Japan Tokyo, Fukushima, Ishinomaki, Onagawa The Duke met with Emperor Akihito and Prime Minister Shinzō Abe, and toured areas devastated by the 2011 Tsunami.[10][11]
1–4 March 2015  China Beijing, Shanghai, Xishuangbanna The Duke met with President Xi Jinping.[10][12]
10–13 April 2016  India Mumbai, Delhi, Kaziranga The Duke and Duchess met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.[13]
14–15 April 2016  Bhutan Thimpu The Duke and Duchess met with Druk Gyalpo(King of Bhutan) Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck

and his Queen consort, Jetsun Pema.

16 April 2016  India Agra The Duke and Duchess visited India again to see the Taj Mahal in Agra.
