Math, Science, and Technology (MaST) Community Charter School was founded by Karen DelGuercio in 1999. The school began in Northeast Philadelphia in what was once an old steel factory. At the end of the 2004 school year, the school was remodeled and two years later, expansion led to a new school building being constructed. In the last five years, the school has added library and media center, a fitness center, and a maker studio.[1] In 2014, the school was one of four Philadelphia public schools to beat the national average SAT score.[2]
