Magee Hickey
Magee Hickey (born June 12, 1955) is a reporter for WPIX and Time Warner Cable News- NY1 in New York City.
She attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart, an elite, all-girls school in Manhattan, before graduating from Brown University in 1977. She started her news career in 1979 as an anchor at WLNE-TV in Providence, Rhode Island. She moved to New York in 1982 to report at WNEW-TV (later WNYW-TV)[1] and later at WABC-TV Eyewitness News. She also worked several years as a reporter and anchor for WNBC-TV's "Weekend Today in New York". She moved to WCBS-TV in 1994 as a reporter and morning anchor before being fired in October 1996 with six on-air colleagues, in an attempt to boost ratings.[2]
She also did work for "She-TV" on the Discovery Channel and hosted "Parent to Parent"[3] and "Real Women" on Cablevision's MetroGuide Channel.
After 9/11, she joined WNBC-TV (NBC 4) in New York City, where she worked as a correspondent from 2002-2003.[4] She returned to WCBS in January 2003. In May 2011, she was informed by WCBS that her contract, which was due to expire in July, would not be renewed.[5] Since September 2011, Hickey is a reporter for WPIX news and since July 2013 she is reporter for NY1 News until August 2014.
Family
In 1983, she married S. Richolson Salembier [1] with whom she has two daughters.
