MainStreaming is a Live Streaming and online video hosting service founded in 2011 and launched in Italy in March 2013,[1] supporter of Baia - Business Association Italy America.[2] The hosting provides live streaming, video hosting service up to 4K, embedding and interaction with social media.[3] Originally founded in Milan, Italy, inside the Mainsoft Group, in 2015 Q1 became independent and started to expand internationally, opening the new headquarters in San Francisco and the Silicon Valley.

History

MainStreaming began its business with important customers,[4] like the live streamings of the Palio di Siena, Pirelli's Hangar Bicocca, events of the famous hair-stylist Aldo Coppola, the web tv of the Monza Track (Autodromo Nazionale Monza, place of Formula One Italian Grand Prix), italian edition of Rolling Stone, Mediolanum . MainStreaming also provided specified features for e-Learning platforms, such as Talento, Alta Formazione, Amadeus, and local tv and web tv like Canale 3 Toscana, Odeon and Rete Kalabria.

In April 2015 MainStreaming opened United States' headquarters as MainStreaming, Inc. in San Francisco, California, 275 Battery Street.

Technical features

MainStreaming works with its own Content Delivery Network (CDN), a structure made up of a series of nodes located in major cities around the world. Each of these nodes has multiple dedicated servers with different functions working together to deliver big video files. This video platform uses dedicated connections, redundancy technologies and data backups for the video delivery.
