Mark Lewis is the current public address announcer for the Edmonton Oilers.

Prior to 1980, Lewis worked for local television and 630 CHED in the sales department in Edmonton.[1] In 1981, he volunteered to be the PA announcer for the 1981 Canada Cup which held in Edmonton at what would later become Rexall Place, after the incumbent left the position. Lewis has been the announcer for the Edmonton Oilers ever since.[2][3]

Lewis' pregame routine involves arriving at least a few before home games, picking up relevant papers from the media lounge, verifying them as well as attaining the proper pronunciations of certain players' names.[3] He announces the starting lineups, goals, penalties and pre prepared in arena announcements.[4] He also did announcements for the 2011 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in Edmonton, taking over the French announcements.[5] He shares duties with another announcer, Al Stafford, also formerly of CHED, who does in-arena and shootout announcements.[6]

Lewis, along with two partners and his wife, also owns Café de Ville in Edmonton.[2] He left CHED in August 2009.[1]

On January 4, 2016, Lewis announced his retirement from announcing after 35 years at the microphone, effective after the 2015-16 NHL season.[7]
