Jesus continues his final journey to Jerusalem ministering through Perea. The narrative can be divided into the following subsections:

- Teaching about divorce (19:3–9)
- On Celibacy (19:10-12)
- Little Children Blessed (19:13-15)
- Jesus and the rich young man (19:16–30)
