Matthew Ramsey is an American country music songwriter and lead vocalist of the band Old Dominion[1] with several hit songs on country radio to his credit.[2][3][4]
Early life
Matthew Ramsey grew up in Buchanan, VA. He learned to play the drums at a young age before picking up the guitar at age 14.[5][6]
Career
He received a degree in Illustration from Virginia Commonwealth University and then moved to Nashville to pursue songwriting. He met Trevor Rosen in Nashville and the two became members of the group Old Dominion.[7][8] Ramsey has had several hit songs including The Band Perry’s "Chainsaw",[9] Craig Morgan’s “Wake Up Loving You’’,[10] Dierks Bentley’s “Say You Do’’,[11] Kenny Chesney's "Save It For a Rainy Day",[12][13] as well as songs by Sam Hunt and Luke Bryan. The band released its first album in October 2015, with songs that reached the top ten on the country charts.[14]
