The Melbourne Harlequins Rugby Union Club is an Australian rugby union team formed in 1928. Originally membership was restricted to people born in Britain, but this restriction was removed by the 1950s.[1] Although Rugby is the main sport, the club still plays friendly cricket, golf and darts. One of Melbourne's largest and oldest clubs, Quins promote the ethos of running with the ball in hand. The club has teams in all Junior age groups (U6 to U18) and six Senior teams in total and are the current reigning 1st Grade "Dewar Shield" holders for 2015 completing a hat trick pf 1st Grad premierships (2013, 2014 & 2015). The club also boasts a current hat trick of premierships for the Colts (U20) competition for 2013, 2014 & 2015 along with 2nd and 3rd Grade teams featuring in the Grand Final for both the 2014 & 2015 seasons. 2015 saw the first year the club featured a women's rugby team, featuring in the finals in their first season in the competition.

Boasting the Melbourne's best rugby facilities, the club hosted a Melbourne Rebels V Highlanders trial game in 2015 along with a Melbourne Rising NRC fixture and has been the training base for the Melbourne Rising NRC team in both 2014 & 2015. During the summer of 2016 the Super Rugby team the Melbourne Rebels are using Quins as a training base leading up to the 2016 Super Rugby season.
