Menchville High School is one of five high schools in Newport News, Virginia. The school was named in honor of Thomas H. Menchville. The school colors are purple and gold, and the school's mascot is a Monarch.

They are the top school in Newport News in terms of the number of students taking AP exams, and have the highest rate of passing.[2] In 2008, Menchville High School was rated as the 487th best public high school in the nation according to Newsweek Magazine.[3]
