Method Products
Method Products (branded as method) is a San Francisco-based corporation which produces nontoxic, biodegradable natural cleaning supplies with a focus on minimalist product design.
In 2012 Method Products joined the Ecover Group, a global organisation focused on sustainability. Ecover,[1] based in Belgium, and Method Products form the world’s largest green cleaning products company by sales.[2] Aquaver,[3] a cleantech company in water, and The Change Initiative [4] are other sister companies within the Ecover Group.
History
Among the company's first products was an hourglass-shaped bottle of dish soap, designed by Karim Rashid.[5] The company was founded in 2001 by Eric Ryan, a designer and marketer, and Adam Lowry, a chemical engineer.[6][7] In 2006, Inc. magazine named Method the 7th fastest-growing private company in the United States.[8] Method has gained recognition for its commitment to sustainability, including taking innovative steps to measure and reduce its carbon footprint.[9]
Recently, Method has opened a green factory in the Pullman neighborhood of Chicago. The company estimates that by the end of 2015 this factory will account for 70% of its production. [10] The factory is the first LEED platinum facility in the industry. [11]
