Métis Child and Family Services Societies are individual, independent, charitable non-profit organizations that exist in areas of high Métis populations.

Lac La Biche

The Métis Child and Family Services Society in Lac La Biche, Alberta was incorporated on August 19, 1995. Its primary focus is to assist and support families, youth and elders. Métis Child and Family services - Lac La Biche, vision statement is as follows:

  • The Child and Family are entitled to a safe and caring environment in a community where extended family and Elders' model healthy lifestyles to all, through culturally appropriate support that instills prides, trust, belonging and strengthens the family values through responsible and accountable parenting. Programs run by MCFS Lac La Biche Branch include CHOICES - stay in school incentive program, Child Welfare Diversion Services, Community Home Support Program(General Foster Care Services. Métis Child and Family Services society feels strongly about providing services to Aboriginal families.
