Midlands 1 East is an English Rugby Union League made up of clubs from the eastern region of the Midlands of England, with promoted sides usually entering National Division 3 - Midlands (formerly Midlands 1) - the champions going up automatically and the runner up playing a playoff against the second placed team from Midlands 1 West. Relegated teams drop down to either Midlands 2 East (North) or Midlands 2 East (South), depending on location and other factors.
On the league hierarchy it is level 6.[1]
