Miles Edward Frank Briggs MSP is a British politician who was elected as a Scottish Conservative and Unionist Member of Scottish Parliament for the Lothian region at the Scottish Parliament election, 2016.[1]

He was educated at Auchtergaven Primary School, Perth Grammar School and Robert Gordon University.

Political career

He stood as the conservative candidate in United Kingdom general election, 2010 for the North East Fife constituency, then in the Scottish Parliament election, 2011 for North East Fife. In 2016 he stood for the constituency of Edinburgh Southern.

In December 2015 he was named second on the Conservative’s regional list for the 2016 elections, behind leader Ruth Davidson.[2]

Briggs is the Conservative spokesman for mental health and public health in the Scottish Parliament[3]
