The Minister of Human Resource Development is the head of the Ministry of Human Resource Development and one of the cabinet ministers of the Government of India.[1] Formerly, the office was known as Minister of Education. Currently Smriti Zubin Irani of the Bharatiya Janata Party holds the office since 26 May 2014.
