Mr. Capone-E is a rapper and owner of Hi-Power Entertainment. He was also signed with Thump Records, where he released his 2003 album Dedicated 2 the Oldies in which he interpolated songs like "Angel Baby" by Rosie & the Originals .[1] Even though, Mr.Capone-E has described his music as "Sureño hip hop. [2]

In 2006,Mr.Capone-E collaborated with Twista for the single "Don't Get It Twisted". The song charted at #40 on the Billboard Rhythmic Top 40 chart [3]

Solo career

2001-2010

Mr.Capone-E released his first solo album in 2001 titled "Last Man Standing". in 2002 after signing a 3-year distribution deal with Thump Records, a partner of Universal Records. That year he met Mr. Criminal, a rapper from Silver Lake at a low rider car show. Thump Records Music Group which gained widespread international popularity in 2003.

In 2002, Mr. Capone-E released his DVD, A Day in the Life of Mr. Capone followed by in 2003 his 3rd album, Mr. Capone-E: Dedicated to the Oldies,[1] which sold over half a million copies and still continues selling units today.

Mr. Capone-E went back to Thump who released his 5th album, Soldier Story, in 2005 and his sixth album, Zap & Mr. Capone-E Vol.1 & 2,

Money issues began to surface between Mr.Capone-E and Thump, which ultimately led to unpaid royalties to Mr.Capone-E. He was encouraged to leave Thump based on the amount of albums he was selling per release, Mr.Capone-E received all the rights to his music released under Thump.

In 2006, Capone-E released his seventh album, distributed under SMC, Don’t get it Twisted, including the hit single “Don’t Get it Twisted” ft. Twista,[3] which peaked at #18 on the Top Heatseekers Album Chart, #25 on the Independent Albums Chart and #68 on the Billboard R&B/Rap Albums.[4]

In 2007, Mr.Capone-E signed an independent direct distribution deal with Koch and released his eighth album, Mr. Capone-E: Dedicated to the Oldies Part II in ’08, which peaked at #17 on the Top Heatseekers Albums Chart[4] and #66 on the Billboard R&B/ Hip Hop Album.[4]

In 2009, Capone-E released his ninth album, Diary of a G, including the single “Light my Fire” ft. Snoop Dogg and collaborations with The Game and Glasses Malone, which peaked at #18 on the Billboard Rap Album Charts and #24 on the Top Heatseekers Album Charts.[4]

Following the releases of his albums, Mr.Capone-E released The Blue Album in 2010 and Mr. Capone-E: Tears of a Soldier'.[1]

Hi Power Entertainment

Mr. Capone-E began to sign more underground artists which was the birth of Hi-Power Entertainment, Mr.Capone-E record label.[5]

Under Hi Power Ent., Mr. Capone-E signed over 30 artists including Bizzy Bone and Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Suga Free, MC Eiht and Lil Flip.
