Highway system

Mumbai Nagpur Expressway is the proposed expressway between Mumbai and Nagpur[1] The expressway will connect Nagpur, Amravati, Aurangabad, Ghoti with Mumbai and will be a six-laned. It will be completed in phased mannered. It would be completed in a time-bound manner by 2019. In phase I, land acquisition and construct a four-lane road and in second phase it will would be expanded as a concrete six-lane road with services roads, tunnels, and flyovers of the project.[2]

The total cost for this expressway is projected to be 30,000 crore (US$4.5 billion) [2] The road passing through Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nashik, Nagpur will be complete with installation of CCTV, optic fibre and educational institutions. [3]

Once completed it will reduce current 17-18hr road journey to 10hrs.[4]
