Mya Nan Nwe
Amadaw Mya Nan Nwe (Burmese: အစ်မတော် မြနန်းနွယ်; Thai: เทพกระซิบ เมี๊ยะนานหน่วย , lit. "angel of whispers"), also known as Thaiknanshin (သိုက်နန်းရှင်, lit. "keeper of the treasure trove") is a prominent Burmese nat.[1] H
She is the spirit of a Shan and Bamar royal descendant born on 22 December 1897.[1] She contributed to religious works, including the rebuilding of the Botahtaung Pagoda after its destruction during World War II.[1] After her death in 1957, she became revered by followers, for her ability to grant wishes to those who appealed to her help.[1]
Her shrine was erected inside the Botahtaung Pagoda in Yangon in 1990.[1] The shrine attracts 700 worshippers per day, and between 1,000 and 3,000 worshippers on weekends, including many Thai devotees.[2][1] She gained popularity in Thailand through a Thai television program featured her biography.[1]
