National Highway 65 (NH 65), according to new numbering system, is a major National Highway in central India, stretching 841 km (523 mi) from Pune in Maharashtra through the states of Karnataka and Telangana to Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh. It is called NH 9 in old numbering system [1]

Some major cities and towns along NH 9 are Pune, Indapur, Solapur, Umarga, Humnabad, Zahirabad, Hyderabad, Choutuppal, Narketpally,Nakrekal, Suryapet, Kodad, Nandigama, Vijayawada, Vuyyuru and Machilipatnam.
Improvements
A 40 km (25 mi) section west of Pune has been developed into a good quality 4 lane highway.A 70 km (43 mi) section west of Hyderabad was extended to 4 lanes to accommodate heavy traffic of the suburban areas around Hyderabad.
The entire stretch of Hyderabad-Vijayawada has been extended to 4 lanes (6 Lanes in certain areas) and this work was completed in December 2012.
