The New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) is an interstate compact founded in 1955 by the six New England governors that promotes[clarification needed] greater educational opportunities and services for the residents of New England. The region of New England includes the states of: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
