The North Texas Mean Green women's basketball team represents the University of North Texas (UNT) in NCAA Division I college basketball, competing as a member of Conference USA. Since 2012, former Wake Forest women's basketball head coach Mike Petersen has coached the team after stepping down from Wake Forest, and since 1973, the team has played its home games in the The Super Pit.

Sophomore forward Eboniey Jeter, 21, of Killeen, Texas, was found dead in her room in Mozart Square Hall on the University of North Texas campus, of as yet unknown causes that are not thought to be suspicious, according to a university spokeswoman, on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. She had been an all-state performer at Harker Heights High School.
