Oratorio di San Protaso (Oratori de San Protas in Lombard) is a church in via Lorenteggio, Milan, Italy.

History

The Oratorio was built around the year 1000 AD, at the Milan suburb Lorenteggio, as a little church for the peasants. It was under dependency of the Basilica di San Vittore al Corpo, who provided the priest for the Mass.

A Milanese legend tells that the Emperor Frederick Redbeard, during the siege of Milan, has prayed in this Oratorio.

In the XVII century the control of the church was taken by the Olivetans.

The urban expansion of Milan has endangered the church, but the citizens has reach the conservation of the structure.

Today, is opened at the Festa del Lorenteggio, the first Sunday of may and the last of November.
