The Parque Cristal is an office and recreation building located on Avenida Francisco de Miranda in Caracas, Venezuela, which has become a famous landmark.[1] The building is 103 meters high and has 18 floors for work and recreational space, and designed by Jimmy Alcock, who won the Premio Metropolitano de Arquitectura (Metropolitan Architecture Prize) for his design.[2] Completed in 1977, it has a cube-shaped structure formed by steel and concrete and glass facade. It won the Metropolitan Architecture Prize in 1987. This "white cube" design is considered a to be complemented by the nearby Cubo Negro (Black Cube) building which was completed approximately 2 years later in early 1979.[3]
