Pieter Jacob Duisenberg (born 2 June 1967) is an American–born Dutch politician of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD).

He has been a Member of the House of Representatives since 20 September 2012.[1]

Education

After attending the Eerste Vrijzinnig-Christelijk Lyceum in The Hague from 1979 to 1985, Duisenberg studied at the Erasmus University Rotterdam from 1990 til 1995, and gained Bachelor of Economics and Master of Economics degrees. And also studied at the VU University Amsterdam 1992 until 1994 and got a degree as Master of Financial Economics.

Family

He is named after his grandfather Lammert Duisenberg, and is the son of former President of the European Central Bank Wim Duisenberg, his father was member of the Labour Party and served as Minister of Finance from 1973 until 1977, a Member of the House of Representatives in 1978 and President of the Central Bank of the Netherlands from 1982 until 1997 when he became President of the European Monetary Institute. Pieter Duisenberg is married to Annemiek Duisenberg and has both Dutch and American citizenship.
