Buckinghamshire (abbreviated Bucks) is a ceremonial and non-metropolitan home county in South East England. The county town is Aylesbury and the largest town in ceremonial Buckinghamshire is Milton Keynes.
The area under the control of Buckinghamshire County Council, or shire county, is divided into four districts - Aylesbury Vale, Chiltern, South Bucks and Wycombe. The Borough of Milton Keynes is a unitary authority and forms part of the county for various functions such as Lord Lieutenant but does not come under county council control. Buckingham is a town situated in north Buckinghamshire, England, approximately 10 miles (16.1 km) from the border with Northamptonshire. The town has a population of 11,572 (United Kingdom Census 2001), (2007 est. 13,200). Buckingham is also a civil parish designated as a town council.
Historically, Buckingham was the county town of Buckinghamshire, it was declared county town in the year 888 by Alfred the Great. (Aylesbury took over this role in the 16th century).
Buckingham has a variety of restaurants and pubs, typical of a small market town. It has a small number of local shops, both national and independent. Market days are Tuesday and Saturday, with a Farmers' Market held on the first Tuesday of each month. Buckingham is twinned with Mouvaux, France.

Nicholas William Peter Clegg (born 7 January 1967 in Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire), known as Nick Clegg, is the British Member of Parliament for Sheffield Hallam and, since 18 December 2007, leader of the Liberal Democrats. He was appointed to the Privy Council on 30 January 2008 and affirmed his membership on 12th March 2008.
