Udaipur is a city, a municipal corporation and the administrative headquarters of the Udaipur district in the state of Rajasthan in western India. It is located 403 kilometres (250 mi) southwest of the state capital, Jaipur. Udaipur is the historic capital of the kingdom of Mewar in the former Rajputana Agency.

Udaipur is a very popular tourist destination. Apart from its history, culture, and scenic locations, it is also known for its Rajput-era palaces. It is often called the "Venice of the East", and is also nicknamed the "Lake City" or "City of Lakes".

Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur also known as IIMU, is a graduate business school in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. Established as an autonomous body in 2011, the institute offers the two year postgraduate programme (PGP), one year postgraduate programme (PGPX) and other management development programmes. It is one of the seven Indian Institutes of Management set up by the central government during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan.[1]

The institute is set in the picturesque backdrop of Udaipur, one of the busiest tourist attractions in India.[2]

Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was the 11th Vice-President of India. He served in that position from August 2002, when he was elected to a five-year term by the electoral college following the death of Krishan Kant, until he resigned on July 21, 2007, after losing the presidential election to Pratibha Patil. Shekhawat was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a leading member of the National Democratic Alliance at the time of election. He served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan three times, from 1977 to 1980,1990 to 1992 and 1993 to 1998.
