Princess Aimée of Orange-Nassau, van Vollenhoven-Söhngen (legal name: Aimée Leonie Allegonde Marie van Vollenhoven-Söhngen, born 18 October 1977) is the wife of Prince Floris of Orange-Nassau, van Vollenhoven, the youngest son of Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and Pieter van Vollenhoven.

Aimée Söhngen was born in Amsterdam, the daughter of Hans Söhngen and Eleonoor Stammeijer. She has a brother, Hans, and a sister, Magali.

Princess Aimée graduated from Leiden University in 2002 with an LL.M. degree in business law and she works now in the area of marketing and communications for ANWB, having previously worked for Fortis Bank.

She has no official royal role, but as a member of the extended royal family, takes part in the annual King's Day celebrations.

Marriage

Aimée's engagement to Prince Floris was announced on 25 February 2005. The couple married in a civil ceremony on 20 October 2005 at the Stadhuis in Naarden, and in a religious ceremony on 22 October in the Grote Kerk, also in Naarden. Aimee's wedding dress was designed by Lidy de Joode.

On her marriage Aimée acquired the title of Her Highness, Princess of Orange-Nassau, van Vollenhoven as a result of her husband's status as a Prince of Orange-Nassau. Since Floris did not seek parliamentary approval for his marriage, owing to the remote chance of his succession to the throne, he lost his place in line to the Dutch throne when he married Aimée.

Children

In the early morning of 9 October 2007, Aimée gave birth to a healthy baby girl, the couple's first child, to be named Magali Margriet Eleonoor van Vollenhoven.[1] She was born at the VU Hospital in Amsterdam. On 10 December 2008 it was announced that the couple was expecting their second child in July 2009. On 5 July 2009 Princess Aimée gave birth to a little girl, Eliane Sophia Carolina at 14.50 at VU Hospital in Amsterdam. On 1 July 2013, the Princess gave birth to the couple's first son, Willem Jan Johannes Pieter Floris van Vollenhoven in the Bronovo Hospital in The Hague.[2]
