Q Center is an LGBT community center and non-profit organization located in Portland, Oregon, in the United States.
Description
According to its website, the center "provides a safe space to support and celebrate LGBTQ diversity, visibility and community building".[1] Q Center is a registered 501(c)(3) organization which offers programs and services related to arts and culture, education and training, health and wellness, and advocacy.[1]
History
The community center was established in 2005,[2] championed by then-city Commissioner Sam Adams. Kendall Clawson, an African American lesbian, served as its first executive director.[3] The center relocated to North Mississippi Avenue in 2009.[3]
